pg电子下载 State University’s Department of 农业 announces its upcoming Small Farm Climate Smart Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Workshop. The two-day event will be held on June 18 from 8:30 a.m. 到下午4点.m. at the pg电子下载 Biotechnology Building on the Lorman, Miss. campus and on June 19 from 9:00 a.m. 到下午4点.m. at the pg电子下载 State Research and Demonstration Farm Technology Transfer Center in Mound Bayou, Miss.

The workshop is free and open to the public.

The workshop will cover topics such as cover crops, biological and organic pest control methods, 土壤改良剂, soil and water management, and Climate Smart IPM outreach to K-12 schools.

Integrated pest management is a sustainable approach to pest control that combines biological, 文化, 物理, and chemical methods to minimize economic, 健康, and environmental concerns. Climate change has created new challenges for pest and disease management, and this workshop will focus on strengthening agri文化 resilience in the face of these changes.

The workshop will include farmers, 学生, agri文化 companies, various USDA agencies, research and extension faculty, and community members from across Mississippi, 路易斯安那州, 和佛罗里达. 另外, a special hands-on session will be held for K-12 学生, 老师, and parents to learn about Climate Smart IPM techniques.
